Review: Crayola Color Wonder Magic Light Brush
Tuesday, January 26, 2010
Turtle loves to paint. The end.
But seriously. He is always asking to "doop doop." (Long story). And I am usually happy to oblige. I love an artist.
While visiting, I picked this up at Target. It was $17.99 and though it said ages 5+, I really couldn't see anything that would make it dangerous for a 2 year old, especially because it would be used under supervision. I'm a total rebel that way.
I am a huge fan of Color Wonder products. Crayola makes special paints and special markers that look clear. However, when you write or paint with them on special Color Wonder paper... the colors appear!
I don't know what kind of black magic is involved in the process, but I DO know that if Turtle gets close to my couch or floors with a Color Wonder marker, I have nothing to fear.
So with the Magic Light Brush, you just add three AA batteries, clip a pad of Color Wonder paper to the palette, and let your little one have at it. If you dip the brush in a certain color, the bristles light up in that color. It's very cool.
Turtle loved using it. And I really like the way the paintings come out. The colors are super shiny and dry with a really pretty texture, almost like you would get with oil paints.
And of course, the best part (according to MacGyver, who still gets twitchy when we do arts & crafts), there is absolutely no mess.
A must have for your budding artist. Turtle says so.
