Fun For Moms and Dads: The Couple's Playdate
Sunday, January 10, 2010
It's genius, really.
Take a couple of cute kids, toss in two or more groups of friendly parents, add a roaring fire, cheez-its and some snickerdoodles, and BAM.
You have a fantastic way to spend an afternoon!
Think about it - the kids get to play, the adults get to chitchat and the responsibility is split up over several people. In our case, the ratio was 4 adults:3 kids, which is totally better than 1:1 coverage.
And of course, with more parents present, it's much easier to get adorable pictures, like these.
H strikes a pose on her rocking pony.
Turtle is totally fascinated by the nesting stacking blocks. ::adding to this week's shopping list::
What's gonna work? Teamwork!
I love how they worked so well together.
Building very carefully...
H and her daddy did an awesome set on the drums, and then D pulled out one of his guitars. Turtle was seventeen different kinds of fascinated.
He was honestly trying to walk off with it. Of course, Mommy's heart was in her throat the whole time (can you imagine if he dropped it???), but it was awesome seeing him try to make it work.
He loves his little Playskool Rock Guitar, and is so good at holding it properly and strumming... this might be something to watch for the future.
Thanks for a great afternoon, K, D, H and I! Hopefully we can do it again soon!
