Muffin Tin Mealtimes
Monday, January 4, 2010
I really wish I could take credit for this little stroke of genius, but alas, it's not my idea. I found it on Sycamore Stirrings, who claims the inspiration comes from the bento box and something she's seen done on playdates.
But it's a fun idea, so I gave it a shot for Turtle.
I got a 2-pack of disposable muffin tins at the store today. The idea is to give a little assortment of different foods in each of the muffin cups, hopefully touching on all the food groups.
The only word to describe it is FUN.
Top row, from left to right: 1 slice cornbread cut in half, lima beans, sliced 1/2 banana.
Bottom row, from left to right: 5 green olives, leftover white chicken chili, 1 slice cheddar cut in half.
Turtle. Loved. It.
The pans can be easily washed and reused. It's a great way to jazz up mealtime and definitely something I want to institute once a week or so.
Give it a shot. I guarantee it will be a hit with your little ones.

We've done this with the Bunny a few times, and she gets the biggest kick out of it!
Think of all the fun shaped silicone molds they have! I need to try this with N, I bet he would love it too.
