This morning's update was more good news. Turtle's heart dips are fewer and farther between, and according to M, he's eating like a little pig. Love it!
DH cooked a big breakfast for everyone this morning and then he and my stepdad put together the upstairs pack-n-play, while my Mom and I worked on baby laundry and organizing changing stations. Mom is awesome at this kind of thing. It's a huge help.
I was getting anxious to go to the hospital, but DH got involved in assembling the exersaucer, so I got Mom to take me, instead.
Our little one was snoozing away when we got there. We settled right in with him, and got the in-person update. All good news still.
I handed Turtle over to Grandma, who was absolutely ecstatic for the one-on-one time. I love that she is so thrilled with her first grandson.
DH showed up at the hospital about 30 minutes after we got settled in. He said that he was building and realized that he could do that any time - he needed to be spending time with his son and his wife, so he got dressed and headed right on over. I'm glad he recognized this, and even allowed him to change Turtle's poopy diaper as a reward :).
Mom stepped out so Grandpa could get a turn, and then they left so DH and I could give our baby his bottle and snuggle him. Since I did the feeding, DH demanded him for cuddles. We wanted him to get back to sleep, but he was fighting it SO hard. His little eyes were getting so heavy, but he couldn't keep them open. However, we enjoyed watching him fall to sleep.
M told us to bring his carseat tomorrow. He has to sit in it for 90 minutes on the monitor to make sure there are no issues with his dips - 90 minutes being the estimated time it would take for us to get home in severe traffic. All I know is that it is one step closer to having him home with us!
Hopefully, tomorrow will be the best day of all. Keep your fingers crossed...
As a sidenote, today was supposed to be my second shower. With everything that's gone one, the hostess and I decided we would do something later to celebrate Turtle's arrival instead. DH and I have been opening all the gifts that were mailed. Everything is great, but of course, nothing compares to having my little one home.
