My First Mother's Day/Bath Day
Sunday, May 11, 2008
It's been several days of celebration around this house, that's for sure.
Yesterday, we picked up an edible arrangment for my mom (and a little bit for me). She had never seen one before, and we spent lunchtime, totally gorging on yummy fruit. It was fun. She and Dad also got me a gorgeous charm bracelet to commemorate Turtle's birth. It was totally sweet and unexpected.

Turtle had another great day. We are getting a little frustrated with the monitor. It is so sensitive and 9 times out of 10, when it goes off, it's because a cord is loose or a lead is coming off. We are allowed to take it off him when were are 100% focussed on him, so I'm starting to do that more. It has been picking up all these apnea readings on him, but every time the apnea alarm goes off, I can see him breathing. It's getting very exhausting, especially since he is wiggling more and can get the wires off with his monkey feet. I'm calling the pediatrician and the company where the monitor is from to see what can be done. We've been told that this is very normal, but I just don't see how it's helping. Maybe the company will have some ideas on how to make the readings more accurate.

DH gave Mom and I gift certificates for manicures & pedicures at my favorite salon so we could go this week, but we'll see how it goes. It's a lot of work with the dogs and our fence will be in by Wednesday, so... maybe. If not, Mom will be back in July, so we can go then (the GCs are good for a year). He is also cooking us dinner tonight - honey ginger salmon on the grill with risotto and asparagus. And some wine, of course. It will be so nice.

Turtle had his first bath at home today. He was very good and barely cried. He pooped right away after, so I'm guessing he was not a big fan of being squeaky clean, but too bad.
We're really enjoying him. He's such a precious little guy, and so very special to us.
Yum. Tastes like chicken.
To poop or not to poop. That is the question.
