Ribbon Wreath: I Heart You Lots

Thursday, February 4, 2010

Back at Christmas, I showed you how to make a very pretty ribbon wreath, courtesy of The Long Thread.

The last time I was at Hobby Lobby (aka, Store of All Things Wonderful), I saw an extruded heart form wreath, and it got me to thinking...

What if I made a heart-shaped wreath for Valentine's Day???!

So, I did.

I bought 4 rolls of 7/8" hot pink grosgrain ribbon (7 yds each) and 1 roll of a pretty striped satin ribbon for hanging.

And one foam heart shape.

I cut 48" of the striped ribbon, knotted the loose ends and looped it around the top of the heart to create the hanger.

And then I marked off 12" on my table (last time we did 16" pieces, but this form is a little thinner than the round one, so I adjusted accordingly) with painter's tape and cut the ribbon into pieces to size.

Then you start tying your ribbon. Right over left. Right over left. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Until it's all pretty and fluffy like this.

Hang on your door for Maximum Cuteness Factor.

Happy Valentine's Day!
