On the mend

Slowly, but surely, I'm recovering. DH has been a touch under the weather, but he keeps downing echinachea, so he should be ok. It's funny. Pre-Turtle, I could have just gone in bed, hidden under the covers and slept. Not so much anymore. Turtle doesn't appreciate other people's naptimes.
Speaking of which, someone has been taking actual naps. In his crib! Pick yourselves up off the floor. He really is. Since he's outgrown his bouncy seat and his new rocker is really hard to "bounce" him to sleep in, I've sucked it up and started putting him down for actual naps. Yesterday went very smoothly. Today, it was a little harder. He would fuss, get his thumb, and fuss again. A few times, he started crying, but every time I got to him, he would have already calmed himself down and be dozing again.
He did have another nightmare last night. He woke crying at about midnight. DH picked him up, turned on the light and changed his diaper, and by the time he was zipped back in his sack, he was out. Weird.
Another fun thing - yesterday I took him to Gymboree with my dear friend A and her daughter S. What. Fun. Ok, it was cheesy as hell, and I hate singing in front of people. But Turtle loved it. He only got fussy once, and he got very into it. I learned that he loves bubbles and hand puppets. Good to know with Christmas coming! I talked to DH when we got home and we are going to sign up for the membership. It's great for me to get out of the house, get him some socialization and work on things that I probably wouldnt' come up with on my own.
And now... what you really want. Pics!
Here he is, all comfy and at home in his rocker. We had to remove the toy bar - it was pissing him off.
And here he is trying for some independant play. Oscar has really claimed these activity mats as his own, but they're working out how to share. Turtle also put his new "petting" skills from Gymboree to use. The pugs love it.
It was so gorgeous out that we took a walk with the stroller. Yes, Turtle is travelling backwards because the sun was in his eyes.
And finally, story time with daddy. They just started Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Turtle really wants to get his hands on that book! He loves being read to. And he loves holding books. Definitely my son!
