Turtle's Day Out

Sunday, June 1, 2008

Today, we took a chance.

Turtle has been doing so well that I decided we should try to get out. Also, DH really didn't plan anything for his parents' visit, so I felt like they were bored just hanging out around here and being guinea pigs for my cooking jag.
Although we had a tough night (Turtle wanted to sleep through a few of his feedings and took a looooooong time to settle down each time), he seemed to have regulated himself by morning, so we were on for our lunch out. He had his noon bottle and we got on the road.

It could not have gone better (with the exception of me wanting to sit outside and no one else wanting to - now that I'm not pregnant anymore, I am constantly freezing and so the more dining al fresco, the happier I am). I popped Turtle into his sling and he slept the entire time we were out, plus the car ride home.

I had a little bit of a migraine this afternoon, so I tried to take him up to nap with me, but of course, that's when Fussy McFusserson showed up, so no nap here. I was able to pull it together during today's ridiculous hail/thunderstorm, and I'm hoping he dozes off soon so I can get some sleep (I'm really using those Newborn exercises I mentioned in an earlier blog entry tonight).

My ILs want to be on the road by 10, which works out great - when they're gone, I can scoot back to bed. Yay!

Oh, and last but not least - Turtle got to wear some overalls today! Too cute!
