The Bucket List

Sunday, June 29, 2008

We watched this movie Sunday night, and OMG... we were both crying at the end. What a beautiful story.

Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman (two amazing actors), are both diagnosed with terminal cancer and set out to fulfill a "bucket list," the things they want to do before they "kick the bucket." It just really has some moments that break your heart, and other moments that really make you stop and think. DH thought it would be more of a comedy, but it was a little bit of everything. I think I'm going to buy the DVD - I could totally watch it regularly.

In the meantime, I started thinking about things I'd like to do before I pass. Hopefully, that's a long way off, but it's interesting to think about. I had lists for things I wanted to do before I turned 21 and before I turned 30, and I did ok with those, but let's see what I've come up with.

* Live to see my grandchild/children

* Travel the world - specifically Egypt, Tuscany, Greece, Bali, Tahiti, Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand, Amsterdam, Prague, St. Petersburg, Moscow.

* Restore my own Shelby

* Open a bakery

* Finish and maybe sell a screenplay and/or novel

* Meet those people I always wished I could meet
* Take my Mom to Alaska - it's her dream and I would love to see her enjoy it
* Attend a Superbowl (preferably with the Dolphins playing)
* swim with the dolphins

So far, this is what I have. Not too much, but enough to work with. :) I think it's interesting to write down those things you want to do in your lifetime and then try to accomplish them.
