Out and about

I admit, today got off to a very, very bad start. I guess everyone has a breaking point, and I hit mine. I really wish it didn't have to come at 5 in the morning, but hey, that's part of the fun, right?

Needless to say, we did not get up at the crack of dawn to make it to the blueberry festival. In fact, as we were attempting to leave FOR the festival, K texted me to tell me not to bother - that it was scorching hot and small and not worth the trip.

What DID happen this morning was DH turned into a rockstar. When Turtle's heart monitor went off for the 3rd time between 5 and 7, he bolted up, told me to lay back down and ... well, I don't know what he did but I woke up at 9:15, with only Molly in bed. Somehow, he had gotten Turtle AND Oscar (who is notorious for pouncing on me in the morning) downstairs, Turtle was dressed(check out the outfit), fed, changed and snoozing away in his PNP. Bentley & Oscar had been fed and were playing outside, and everyone was in a lovely mood. It was honestly one of the best mornings I can remember.

I sent DH out to bet the Belmont (he loves betting the Triple Crown races and holy cow, can you believe that Big Brown came in last? Wow!), and got me and the baby ready to leave. Of course, our plans changed a bit, so we decided to head over to SJTC for lunch and some fresh air. It was really nice, and DH insisted on pushing his stroller the entire time. So cute. We had lunch at Mitchell's Fish Market and Turtle was so well-behaved. We topped off our meal with shakes from Kilwin's - how can you go wrong? Best of all, we got a picture of Turtle by the turtle pond. Too cute!
