Long Week

Dad's going to be in the hospital for a few more days. He is stable, thank god, and his heart is strong, but they want to observe him on the new medication that they have him on, and he also needs to get some injections over the next week. If he leaves the hospital, insurance won't cover it, so they want him to stay so he won't have to pay over a thousand dollars out of pocket.
My day started with DH waking me up - Turtle had a "diaper situation." DH thought that maybe he would hold Turtle's legs and I could change the diaper. Oh, hell no. While the "situation" was no worse than the ones I deal with singlehandedly at 4am, I held squirmy worm's legs while DH used about 30 wipes to clean up the mess. I think at that point, he realized it wasn't fair that he had woken me up and told me that he would go walk the dogs and I could go back to bed. I was pretty irritated and knew I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep, so I just took a shower and started my day.
I admit, I've been a bit stressed. With Dad, and then some things going on with other family members, and the adjustment to everything here, it's hard. I've been taking lots of deep breaths and just trying to get things done, while being a good wife and mom. I really haven't been able to tell if I've been succeeding or not, so I just keep doing what I think is best and helpful. I just hope that I'm doing a good job.
On a more fun note, Turtle tried out his swing, aka The Baby Crack Machine, today. It was awesome. He gave us the lip quiver at first, and then settled right in. It will be something else to break up his day, and I'm glad he likes it. The pugs like it, too. They can keep a closer eye on their baby, when he's in it. :)
PS - Feel free to think about biting Turtle's cheeks. They're delicious.
