Since the Hurricanes didn't kick off til 8pm (GO CANES!), we had the morning and afternoon to enjoy ourselves.
First, we headed out to meet our friend TK at the local Farmer's Market. It was so fun.
There were kittens. Turtle was more than thrilled by that (please ignore his deflating balloon - he got it last week at a party, and has been dragging it along ever since).
PETA, avert your eyes. Turtle is absolutely NOT attempting to free the kittehs in any way, shape or form.
He just adores them.
He also decided today that he did not wish to ride in his stroller. We got him out, he took a big drink and then off he went. La de da de da.
He was just totally loving the freedom, wandering about with his goldfish in hand.
I managed to pose him on some hay bales for a sort of fall picture. I snapped him mid-clap.
Can I help you, Mommy?
Tonight, we gave him his first plum (courtesy of the Market). I cut it in half, and then cut one half into pieces. Turtle was not impressed with that, so I tried plan B - giving him the half to bite.
Hello, Plum. What am I to do with you?
Oh. I get it.
MUST you keep taking pictures?
NOM NOM NOM!
He really liked it. :)
Also of note, TK loaned me The Last Symbol, by Dan Brown. I'm not a huge fan of Dan Brown's actual writing, but I'm glad to have a new book to read, and I do usually enjoy his plots. I'm about halfway through (thanks to a long nap by Turtle and an ulcer-inducing football game). So far, it's interesting, but not as "good" as The DaVinci Code and Angels & Demons. We'll see how it goes.
