Happy Birthday to Me!

Sunday, May 10, 2009

On Saturday, I turned 29. Again. Ha!

First up? Presents! Yay.

DH totally hit it out of the park with this one. On the plus side, ice cream is my most favorite thing in the world. On the bad side, I've worked very hard, shredding with Jillian and this may just do me in. Boo. However, I'm a tough girl and I will overcome. Really.

Then off we went for a trip to the pool in our neighborhood. Turtle got all suited up and enjoyed the water. Unfortunately, I am losing my mind at the young age of 29, and I left my CF card at the house. Duh. I had to scamper home, get it and come back, so some of my super cute pictures did not come out. Boo.

Turtle LOVED the pool. He also loved drinking the water. He understood how to lean forward and kick his feet, too, which was so cute. I am going to love swimming lessons with this little fishy.

Of course, he was pooped, so he took a nice long nap and then we went to Cap's for lunch. It's really one of my favorite places. It's so beautiful and peaceful. It doesn't hurt that the food is great and the drinks are yummy. We had the perfect table with a view of the Intercoastal, and we just got to kick back and enjoy, while Turtle tried to make friends with people at other tables. Silly child.

He totally approved of lunch, though.

Then it was naps for everyone, because we had a big night! DH got me a little Carvel cake with those oh-so-hilarious(not) relighting candles to start us off. I couldn't bear the thought of baking again, espcially when it was just for me, so I asked for ice cream cake. Yum.

We left Turtle with his sitters and headed downtown to BB's for dinner. Actually, we weren't starving so we enjoyed appetizers (bruschetta and crab cakes) with some pinot for me and dirty martinis for DH. We also had some dessert. You really can't go to BB's without dessert. My apple crumb pie and vanilla ice cream was perfect.

Finally, it was off to the theater for...

GAHHHHH!!!!! I have been dying to see this show since it opened in NY. OMG, it was so amazing. We had third row orchestra seats, just right of center and OMG. That's really all I can say. I loved every second of it. DH even loved it.

(Little side note to the gentleman sitting two seats down: I think it's swell that you won the Wicked Lottery, as your awesome green button declared, but it's pretty darn rude and thoughtless to come to a crowded theater, chain-sucking on Halls and hacking into your Playbill. Maybe you were sick, maybe you had allergies, maybe you have some kind of coughing thing, whatever. Keep it home. Kthxbai.)

A fabulous birthday, courtesy of DH, Turtle, the pugs and our sitters. Thanks to all!

Happy Birthday and Happy Mother's Day :) I too love Wicked. I'm a theater major right now, but I just saw it recently.

I came across your blog since I'm also doing the 30 Day shred (Just started) and am starting a blog to keep me motivated.

Sounds like an awesome birthday! I'm glad you had such a great one.

Still totally jealous of everyone that got to see Wicked.
