Turtle's first Superbowl and some of his tricks

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

I can't believe I forgot to post this! Here's Turtle, "enjoying" his first Superbowl. Poor baby was teething horribly, and he really didn't care about the game. But, it's the obligatory shot, and here it is.

J came back today to install the crown molding on our kitchen cabinets. Gorgeous, is all I can say. It just finished them off perfectly, and I am so happy we had it done. Now just the bookshelves left.

Turtle is showing off some new tricks. Apparently, over the last few days, he has decided he is going to pull up. It's both adorable and nerve-wracking - it means that walking isn't too far behind.

In these pics, he is using his crawl & cruise musical jungle to get his feet under him. He does this weird, half-kneeling, half-lunging thing, but he's doing it. However, he doesn't need the support bar. When I had him on the floor downstairs, he was doing the same thing with his knees but all on his own. And while he was in the tub tonight, he was trying again to pull up.

Nana & Papa Bear picked up a walker for Turtle last night. He loves it, which you really can't tell by his patented "serious face." He has a great time trying to figure out how to make it move.

Turtle has been teething, too. I can feel a little tip of something on his upper left gum, but that pesky tooth still hasn't cut. Thank god mom was here the last few days because I don't think I would have survived it. He wouldn't nap; he was stuffy and congested in his nose; he was pooping all the time; he was in so much pain. We tried just about everything to calm him down, but it took hours to calm him down enough to sleep, at which point, I think he was passing out with sheer exhaustion.

On the plus side, he was better today and I was able to get him to bed without much of a fuss. Mom & Dad have left for a few days to go on their belated honeymoom in Sanibel, but they will be back Friday. I miss them already, but I'm glad they're getting some time to themselves.
