Photo Session & Park

And another Saturday is upon us.
Last night, I left Turtle with DH and headed off to the movies to see He's Just Not That Into You with some girlfriends. I was expecting not to like it, but as it turns out, I laughed through the entire thing. Loudly. I'm glad I got a little time out of the house.
Speaking of which... check it out! All our carefully selected floorplans have gone right out the window. We have officially begun the Official Closing of the Office. It's really weird to have a wall between the office and living room, but it's for the best. And, out of the ashes rises.... (drumroll please) a PROJECT!!!
I was planning on covering the back wall of the bookshelf (on the office side) with a black and white damask, an idea I fell in love with on the Rachel Ray show. However, I found these great wall stencils at Hobby Lobby and decided I can stencil my own damask pattern instead. Squeee! I will do the pattern in black on a white background, and then I am going to edge the front ends of the shelves with black grosgrain ribbon, held in place with upholstery tacks at regular intervals. Dramatic and pretty.
Which brings us to the living room side. I am going to use the same wall stencil over here. That drywall rectangle will be edged molding, and since it will be a smooth surface (unlike our annoying textured walls), I am going to have J finish it in white paint and then I will stencil with the color of the living room. The final touch will be to hang a large mirror or a collection of smaller mirrors, to bring some depth to the room.
We've had some gorgeous weather, so DH wanted to take Turtle to the park. Who am I to stand in the way of a boy and his daddy?
Wheeeeeee! I'm flying!!!!
Higher, Mommy, higher!
Swinging is hard work. I'm sleepy. Can I take a nap right here?
No, didn't I make myself clear? I'm tired. Wanna take a nap!
Oooh, this is fun (Please note the new shoes on DH. This has taken us months to accomplish and it's for the better).
And now I take a turn with mommy.
And finally, the pictures from our shoot with Kelly from KC Frick Photography. We are so thrilled.

Okay first of all Kelly did an amazing job. But really are you serious with that button down and that sweet little face - it look like it should be in a magazine! It is too cute, a perfect shot!! I love them. Great pictures :)
The wall is going to look great! The pictures are gorgeous. How are you ever going to decide which ones to hang where?
Aw! I'm so glad you love the pix! I think they turned out F-A-B! :)
I cannot wait to see your project completed- it's going to look so good! I may have to hire you for some crafty stuff at my house! heehee
