Hello, there

So, here it is. My blog. You know, because everyone's doing it.

It's been a busy few years. We got married in November of 2006. We did tons of travel, with a two-week trip to Maui, San Francisco and Napa Valley, followed by two weeks in Rome, Venice and Paris a few months later. We bought a new house in a new city in June of 2007, rescued our third pug in August, found out I was pregnant in September, and moved to our new home the day after our first anniversary. It's been a lot of change and a lot of adjustments, but we're settling in nicely.

I'm now 27 weeks pregnant, give or take. When we got our first ultrasound, at a whopping 8 weeks, I was convinced we were having a turtle, because, well, it really looked like one.

At my 20 week ultrasound, we saw, via a very helpful arrow, that we were having a little boy. However, the "turtle" nickname has stuck (at least as far as I am concerned), despite having compromised on the name Aiden Patrick for our little bundle of joy.

I didn't particularly enjoy my first trimester. It was a pretty wreteched existence, limited to my bed and the nearest bathroom, with a daily, though not always successful, attempt at going to work. Honestly, it was like three months of food poisoning combined with a bad hangover. Things improved around Thanksgiving (yay!), and now, already in my third trimester, I'm doing relatively well.

My husband has been great. Of course, I haven't had any weird, late-night cravings which would force him to venture out in search of some unattainable food, and the one night I did want Taco Bell (at a reasonable dinner hour) ended up being the night that Turtle started kicking. I admit, it took me a few minutes to figure out exactly what was going on down there. :)

So that's the quick rundown. I plan on having tons of tales of pregnancy, pugs, adjusting to a new city and all that good stuff. Enjoy!
