O Christmas Tree! And Holiday Party.

Once again, it was a busy weekend. I think we'll be having more and more of them as we approach 12/25.
First, I had my annual exam with Dr. V. Fun times. The good news is I am officially under my pre-preg weight per the office scale and now that the weather is nicer, I am making the effort to take 1-2 mile walks with Turtle every single day. It's good for both of us, and the pay off is that despite pigging out all weekend, my new jeans (which were just a touch snug) are fitting a little better. Yay.
DH went back down to Boca to collect our generator, drop off some Christmas gifts and to deliver a cupcake order. He was only gone overnight, so the Turtle and I met our friend N for lunch at Town Center and then did a Target/Pier 1 run. I got a tree skirt and some cute decorations.
Saturday, Turtle was a teething mess. He alternated between laughing and screaming. He wouldn't nap and he wouldn't let me be more than two steps from him at all times. I finally took him to Carter's and Walgreen's just to give me a little break. He finally settled down around dinner time and had a great night. Whew.
Sunday was a marathon. First, we got up early to go get our Christmas tree. It was FREEZING. Molly had to talk Turtle into getting out of his warm crib.
Really? I have to get up? Are you sure?
While Daddy was getting gas in the rental car (we decided to get sap and needles all over that since we had it from his trip), I tried to take this year's "bandwagon" holiday photos with Turtle.
Swirly lollies are all the craze, you know.
Finally, we were off. Turtle's first picture at his first tree lot? Less than impressed. Hmph.
But we got a gorgeous tree, got it home, got it in the stand with minimal arguing, only to realize that the stand was broken, so DH had to go back to the lot for a NEW stand, and managed to singlehandedly get the tree in it, much to my amazement. I think this new stand will save our marriage. In our house, the holidays aren't officially here until we have the fight over putting up the tree.
Then it was on. We had to return the rental, and then DH was taking me to my friend T's house for a holiday party/ornament-cookie-gift exchange. I made these caramel kiss thumbprint cookies for the event.
The party was fantastic. It was so great seeing good friends and their little ones. Turtle was napping for this picture, but such a great turnout!
L and her gorgeous boy K. We have to set up a playdate with them soon! K and Turtle were both in sweater vests, too. It was adorable.
B and her new man, C. What a beautiful family.
Oh yeah, me and my boy.
Five handsome baby boys.

What fun pictures!
And love the cookies - I would like 2 dozen, half a gallon of milk & a Bad Girls Club marathon.
