Holiday Cheer

I could probably use some.
A lot is going on and I'm down. I mean, it's going to be an amazing Christmas, and we are so lucky and so blessed, but I'm dealing with a few hurtful things, and I really just have to shake it off and think about my family and my son, instead. I am saying a lot of prayers for a new baby who needs them, and for some people in my life who need a little extra support right now. I'm not really a prayer kind of gal, but I guess they can't hurt.
I'm tired, too. I'm on my feet all day. It's just easier not to sit down. However, when I wake up in the morning, my feet are so sore I can barely stand. I'm trying to make the effort to actually stick my butt somewhere but I'm failing miserably at it. I just have so much to do: between the baby and the cupcake business, and getting things ready for Christmas... I just don't have the luxury of sitting all the time. Oh, well. I guess I'll just suck and deal.
Most importantly, Turtle is awesome. He's taught himself to whistle (trying desperately to get it on film, but of course he's being less than cooperative), and we have upgraded from puffs to cheerios, which I like better. He's a piggy though: he grabs a whole fistful and tries to stuff them all into his mouth. And they all fall into his lap, and one gets stuck on his chin. It's hilarious. That's right. I laugh at his efforts. But in a very loving way :)
You can see the focus here.
I've also introduced pureed meats. I find them nasty, but he doesn't seem to mind them.
I finished the outdoor lights the other day. Our tree is also up (you can see it in the front window) and I'll get pics of it tomorrow night when I get the beads on it. Now, the only bad thing is that we are having ridiculous windstorms, so our reindeer and snowman have been totally knocked over and beaten up. :(
I also took on a new challenge: cut out cookies. A friend down south asked me to make some cookie favors for a small party she is hosting. She loves my cupcakes but wanted something a little different. She ordered a dozen gingerbread men, a dozen snowflakes and two dozen christmas trees. They are frosted with royal icing and will be wrapped in little plastic favor bags. I hope she loves them.
DH wanted to go see the tree at the Landing tonight, so we headed out. It was WINDY and the Landing was kind of dead. Maybe it livens up a little bit later, but Turtle was cranky and wanted to eat and there really wasn't anything going on. We took a few quick shots, started to head for sushi, then ended up at Chili's. I would have been happy coming home and eating a bowl of popcorn on the couch, but DH is making an effort to get into the festive thing. I appreciate that. It's just hard going out at night with a baby - he's very set in his bedtime (which is great in a way) and I worry that if he gets fussy he's going to disturb someone. Oh well, I'll just have to get over it.
I snapped this pretty cool picture as the sun was setting.

The pictures are great!! Hang in there you have the right outlook. I am here if you need to chat :)
I saw you walking across the street to the Landing. I was at the stoplight waiting to turn onto the Main Street Bridge. I hope that's not creepy!
You should have said hi!
I know, I thought about rolling down the window and shouting at you, but by the time I realized it was you, you were about 3/4 of the way across the street :)
