Dog Days of Summer
Sunday, September 6, 2009
As we wrap up the Summer of 2009, we've been keeping busy with some great outdoor activities. Of course, due to the nature of our geographic location, "summer" will surely continue on for a while longer.
Turtle LOVES to be outside. Some afternoons it gets hard because we don't have that many activities in our yard to entertain him, so since the weather was decent, I took him to the little park down the street.
Mommy, we go in THIS swing?
I'll climb in it if you don't hurry up, Mommy.
WHEEEEEEEEEEEE! Swing!
After about 30 minutes of swinging, I popped him in his stroller and wandered off to the little butterfly garden down the path. I couldn't get a picture of the gorgeous butterflies (they were being difficult), and clearly, Turtle was FAR from impressed...
...but I thought some of the flowers and trees were pretty.
Turtle loves his puppies. He also loves to tease them a little. Molly and Bentley are well aware there are goldfish in that snack trap, and they will do whatever it takes to beg some yummies from their favorite little guy.
Haha, Molly! None for you!
Must... focus...
Mommy's little munchkin. His smile is just infectious.
I don't know WHY she's following me. It's not like I'm giving her anything.
Honest, Mom. No goldfish for the pugs.
Following is a photographic series depicting what happens prior to morning nap. Turtle will eat breakfast and then play. On this particular day, he was playing Picasso.
Can you sense my angst?
All this coloring is making me so tie-tie.
I think I'll just lay down right here and take a snooze.
Wearing Daddy's UM visor. Let's go, Canes!
On Friday, DH and I took Turtle to the Landings to check out the "beach" they had brought in for Labor Day weekend. It was a gorgeous afternoon, and Turtle just loved splashing in the fountain with Daddy.
Turtle's friend B came with his mommy and daddy, too!
Whatcha doin, man?
Taking it all in.
After playing, we went for sushi. Turtle has clearly reached that stage where he's WAY too cool for Daddy. He's so much more interested in the chopsticks.
Me and K.
