Let's catch up, shall we?

Where to start, really?

Before we get into the nitty gritty, these are a few pictures I captured last week.

Mommy, I'm coming to gitcha!

Poor DH can't eat breakfast in peace. Ever. Not only do the boy pugs beg for a bite, but little Turtle McHungryPants insists on getting in on the action.

It's so unfair. The pugs sit and wait patiently, but Turtle is the one who scores a bite.

We were lucky to be in attendance at our friend S's graduation. It was a fantastic celebration.

Turtle was especially enamored of the hammock. I'm pretty sure that DH won't object to getting one of our own.

Now for the fun stuff.

Last week, Turtle and I took a trip down south to visit some friends and family. It's been a while and since we weren't otherwise occupied, it seemed like a fun and spontaneous thing to do.

Turtle had a blast with his great-grandma, great-grandpa and great-Aunt L.

Here he is in Aunt L's chest of Beanie Babies. We jokingly referred to it as her retirement fund. :) Turtle totally loved it.

With Nanie, playing pat-a-cake.

On Monday, we went to the Palm Beach Zoo. I thought this was a beautiful shot of the sky through the foliage.

Turtle with Aunt L.

Out on the patio, making silly faces.

Checking out his cool guitar from Uncle J, Aunt L, and cousins S & D. Honestly, it is the best toy he has. It plays excerpts from 5 actual rock songs (including Message in a Bottle, All-Star, Love Shack), and the strings and frets all work. DH and I love it just as much as Turtle does.

Just jammin'.

Putting all his toys in a basket he found. It seems to be one of his favorite things to do. I'm not going to discourage it.

Turtle with Nanie & Popie.

Turtle and me outside The Colony Hotel in Delray.

Ok, so you know those moments where your child does something that just proves, without doubt, that he really, REALLY belongs to you? Well, here it is.

I am a condiment freak. If it comes with a dipping sauce, I'll eat it. I can't explain it, but that's me. Anyway, we were sitting at Bru's (still, hands down, the best wings ever), and Turtle was getting a little disenchanted with his fries. My aunt tried dipping one in bleu cheese dressing for him, and he. was. hooked.

He took the fry, put it in his mouth, sucked the dressing off, and then pointed for the ramekin. Very carefully, he would dip again. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. First of all, what baby likes bleu cheese dressing? Secondly, could he take after his mommy any more?

After nap, we packed up and headed to my friend N's house for a few more days of relaxation. We hung by the pool, went out to dinner at the Grand Lux with our other friend K, and hung by the pool some more. It was perfect.

Here's Turtle with Dani, the chocolate lab.

Later on, N pulled the air mattress out into the living room to see if Turtle would watch Bolt. He had a comfy spot for it and actually got through about 20 minutes.

After our goodbyes, we headed home on Thursday. It was a tough drive due to some ridiculous storms along the way.

DH was thrilled to see us - he surprised us with these cupcakes that he made especially for us. It's nice to be missed. And even nice to get chocolate cupcakes! Yum!
